He was predeceased by: his mother Minnie Withers; and his sister Marjorie. He is survived by: his wife Joan; his son Robert "Bob" (Kelly); his grandchildren, Madison (Karl), Logan (Cassandra) and Drew (Amanda); his great grandchildren, Mason, Bentley, Abigael and Mikaela; and his sister Edna.
