He was predeceased by: his wife Patricia (Salter); his parents, Harold Barr and Evalena Barr (Mahon); his brothers, Gerald, Jack, Reg, Frederick and Jeff; and his brother-in-law Santo Amodeo.

He is survived by: his sons, Michael (Kate), Kurtis and Robert Barr (Shannon); his grandchildren, Mackenzie (Meg), Brandon (Kasey), Dane and Violet Barr; his siblings, Richard Barr (Kathy) and Nancy Williams (Greg); and his siblings-in-law, Glen Salter (Evelyn), Sandra (Rory), Estra, Ruth, Lorraine, Cynthia Barr and Marilyn Amodeo. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
