It is with sadness that the passing of Catherine Shirton (Smithville, Ontario) is shared. Catherine, born on March 31, 1938, passed away on August 25, 2026. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Catherine Shirton to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her husband Lloyd; her siblings, Jessie Senn (Leonard), Harold Burns (Frances) and Marlene Douglas (Jim); and her niece Dianna.
She is survived by: her children, Wanda (Don), Sandra and Doug (Nicole); her grandchildren, Jessica, Kevin (Joanna), Jason (Melissa), Christina, Cassie, Lexi, Aidan, Ellie and Cai; her great grandchildren, Hartley, Quinlan, Addison, Finnick, Lily and Alice; and her nieces and nephews, Pat, Judy, Bill, Lyle, Cheryl, Randy and Jamie.
Visitation was held on Monday, August 31st 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Merritt Funeral Home (287 Station St, Smithville, ON L0R2A0). A graveside service was held on Monday, August 31st 2026 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the Union Cemetery.
