It is with great sadness that we announce the death of David Ian Shoesmith (Smithville, Ontario), who passed away on February 7, 2022, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of David Ian Shoesmith to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by : his brother Graham; and his sister-in-law Heather. He is survived by : his spouse Beverley Shoesmith; his stepchildren, Barbara Cosby (Robert), Bruce Matys (Pam) and Christine Matys-Ballinger (Andrew); his grandchildren, Steven Cosby (Kally), Adam Cosby (Jaclyn), Jennifer Degrow (Jim), Bryan Matys, Christopher Matys, Jacob Ballinger and Nolan Ballinger; and his brother Peter Shoesmith (Catherine). He is also survived by five great-grandchildren.

Due to current Covid restrictions, visitation is required to be by booked appointment.

Memorial donations to St. Luke's Anglican Church would be appreciated by the family.

“Sorry to hear about your loss. My husband, son and myself had the pleasure of working with David while he was a letter carrier working in the Grimsby office. He always had a smile on his face and a positive attitude towards everyone that he met. He will be greatly missed by all who had the opportunity to work with or be friends with.
