It is with sadness that the passing of Irene Nellie Shrum (Smithville, Ontario) is shared. Irene, born on August 15, 1937 in Fonthill, Ontario, passed away on September 16, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, William Lounsbury and Nellie Lounsbury; her husbands, Lorne Shrum and Floyd Krick; her brother Ralph Lounsbury; her son Mark Shrum; her great-grandparent Michael; and her grandparents, Katrina and Andrew.
She is survived by: her children, Michael and Sherri; her grandson Bryan; her brother Maurice Lounsbury (Marion); her nephew Jeff; and her nieces, Melissa, Michelle and Pamela Baarda.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Merritt Funeral Home (287 Station St, Smithville, ON L0R2A0). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 at 11:30 AM at the Smithville United Church (116 West St, Smithville, ON L0R2A0).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Smithville United Church.
