He was predeceased by : his mother Kristine; his father-in-law Dave Carruthers; and his brother-in-law Eric. He is survived by : his children, Kathleen (Wes) and Trevor; his daughter-in-law Loni; his father Walter; his mother-in-law Lorrice; his siblings, Janate and Danny; his brothers-in-law, Warren and Ken; and his nieces and nephews, Kasey, Katie, Jamey, Jason, Chris, Brendan, Ayden, Evelyn, Zackary, Hannah and Michael.

In lieu of flowers donations in Wally's name can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
