Daniel Martin Obituary
Of Springfield passed away peacefully at Barrie Family Hospice of Elgin on Friday, September 11, 2026. He was 79 years old. Loving father of Danny Martin and Annette Martin- former spouse, Rob Mantel. He will be missed by his grandchildren Ian, Hannah and William. Former husband and long-time friend of Molly (Blancher) Martin. He will be missed by his in-laws Pat Bartlett (Jim), Joyce Connor (late Ed), Welby "Bud" Blancher (late Heather), Kathy Davey (late Larry) and Nancy Blancher. Daniel will be remembered by his late partner of 27 years Elizabeth (Liz) Haroldson and deeply missed by Kim Callahan (Nathan and Marcus), Scott Fowler, Lisa LaChance (Serenity and Cadence MacLeod (Anna and Matthew)), Bud LaChance and Deb (Carter and Tyler). Predeceased by his brother-in-law Gary Blancher. Born in St. Thomas, Ontario on January 5, 1947 son of the late Daniel and Betty Martin. Daniel was an insulator and asbestos worker by trade. He had a love for vintage cars and a big heart for stray cats and would provide food and shelter for all of them. Cremation-burial, Sparta Cemetery. Donations to S.A.L.T. Saving Animals Lives Together would be appreciated.
