He was predeceased by: his wife Joyce (Humphries); his parents, Percy McLean and Florence McLean; his brother Jack; and his siblings-in-law, Lois McLean, Bill and Hilda Humphries.

He is survived by: his children, Carol Rodgers (Mark), Ruth Harland (Eric), Thom McLean (Brenda), Joan Dymock (Doug), Dave McLean (Jill) and Janet Jarrett (Steve); his grandchildren, Derek (Chloe), Dan (Laura), Carley (Brian), Rachel, Alexis, Kyle (Laura), Cam, Liam, Riley, Tyler and Jordan; his great grandchildren, Jase, Nash and Calvin; and his sister-in-law Jean (Haggitt).
