She was predeceased by: her husband C. Lewis Smith; her daughters, Louise and Miriam; her parents, Raymond Snider and Audrey Snider; her parents-in-law, Cecil and Sarah Smith; her brother-in-law Pete Smith; and her siblings, Doreen Hockridge (John), Lillian Lubeck (John) and Bob Snider.
She is survived by: her sons, David (Sandra Ray-Smith) and Michael; her sisters, Ruth Wirt (late Gary) and Betty MacDonald (Jon); her grandchildren, Kyle Ray-Smith, Ian Ray-Smith (Bridgette Cotes) and Sherry Conlin (Paul); and her great grandchildren, Brandon and Alexis. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, dear friends, and the many cats.
In memory of Irene, donations may be made to the Animal Assistance Society, Erland Lee (Museum) Home, or the Women's Institute of Ontario.
