He was predeceased by: his parents, Amos Powell and Ida Cecilia Prior; his sisters, Lorraine O'Riley (John), Peggy Cawthra and Eva Jakeman (Ted); and his niece Rhonda Lakowski.

He is survived by: his wife Carol Prior; his brother Fred Prior (Joan); and his brother-in-law Dave Cawthra. He is also survived by his partner, best friend and the love of his life.
