She was predeceased by: her father Wilfrid Caron; her husband George Earl Toal of Cochrane; her mother Irène Caron (Chabot); her siblings, Irenée M. Caron (Ida), Jean-Guy Caron (Annette), Claude W. Caron, Philippe C. Emery, Gerald C. Emery and Jocelyne C. Emery; and her sister-in-law Shirley Toal.
She is survived by: her daughter Laura Toal-Mino (Brian); her grandchildren, Christopher and Emily of St. Catharines, ON; her sister Anna Belle R. Emery (Jeb) of Courtenay, B. C.; her sisters-in-law, Judy Plummer of Victoria, B. C. and Gale Sanderson (Bob); and her friend Sheila Boucher of Kapuskasing, ON. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 14th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the George Darte Funeral Home (585 Carlton St, St. Catharines, ON L2M4Y1). A funeral Mass was held on Saturday, November 15th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Star of the Sea Church (34 Elgin St, St. Catharines, ON L2N5G5).
In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation in support of the Niagara Walk and Roll for Muscular Dystrophy, an organization that was close to Joelle's heart.
