She is survived by: her husband Andrew Bernais; her son David (Theresa); her grandchildren, Michael, Matthew and Daniela; and her brother Bill. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In Lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to the Alzheimer's Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

“Andy and David, I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Joyce. My heart is so sad:( it’s funny because I have been searching for her the past few months as she has been on my heart! Nothing excited me more than running into her at the bowling alley. I loved her so much and all the time we spent together when I was younger. I always loved her and missed her dearly. Wish I was able to track her down and see her before she was gone! I wish all of her family peace and comfort at this sad time!”
