He was predeceased by: his former wife Frederica Goodine; his brothers, Gord and Don; his siblings-in-law, Clifford, Sharon and Patricia; and his parents, Ellwood Thompson and Florence Thompson.
He is survived by: his significant other Diane Melling; his children, Lyle (Andrea), Keith (Shereen), Sean, Joe, Betty-Jo, Kelly (Jeff) and Jessi (Geoff); his grandchildren, Johnathan, Kiara, Sydney, Ethan, Taylor, Emma and Emil; his great grandchildren, Willow and Knowledge; and his siblings, Betty, Brian and Rick. He is also survived by his nieces, nephews.
