She is survived by: her husband Emil Knebel; her daughters, Tricia Knebel (Lawrence) and Marlene Sinn (Andrew); her grandsons, Tomas and Mark; and her brothers, Bill (Rosalyn) and Art (Lorraine).

Visitation was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM and from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the George Darte Funeral Home (585 Carlton St, St. Catharines, ON L2M4Y1). A funeral Mass was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St Julia Roman Catholic Church (251 Glenridge Ave, St. Catharines, ON L2T3K2).

In honour of Viola's many years of service there, donations may be made in her memory to Hotel Dieu Shaver.
