Sylvia Cartwright Obituary
The family of Sylvia Helen Cartwright of Barrie Ontario is saddened to announce her passing on Thursday 19 May 2022 at the age of 79, just 2 week short of her 80th birthday.
She will be lovingly remembered by her children: Tracy Lee-Anne Cartwright and her son William James Cartwright (Isabelle Cartwright); grandchildren: Jennifer Rosenthal (Stephen Rosenthal), Emma Barker (Nolan Barker), Austin MacDonald (Brittni Santos), Austin Wipp; her great grand-children: Aubree Elizabeth Rose Barker, Nathaniel Asher Rosenthal and Winnie Brooklyn Celeste Barker; as well as numerous relatives and friends. She will fondly be missed by her beloved little dog Squeak.
She was predeceased by her loving husband of 13 years, Robert John Cartwright; brother, Thomas Salminen; and her parents: Bill & Betty Salminen.
Sylvia served in the Royal Canadian Air Force as radar operator stationed at the Royal Canadian Air Forces Station Foymont from 1960-62 . She worked at various banks in Toronto and later in Levack, Ontario.
She was active in the dog show community in Northern Ontario and for many years served as the Secretary/Treasurer of the Sudbury & District Kennel Club. She worked 30 years for the Canadian Revenue Agency.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date and a private service will be held at the family's request.
Memorial Donations may be made in Sylvia's name to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or Canadian Cancer Society.
The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at the Simcoe Terrace and the Royal Victoria Hospital for their care and compassion.
