Elena Capretta Obituary
We are sad to announce that on January 11, 2026, at the age of 84, Elena Capretta of Stoney Creek, Ontario passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Carmine; her parents, Maria Capretta and Alberto Capretta; and her siblings, Carmela, Gaetano Candeloro, Remo, Phyllis Capretta, Valerio and Jacqueline Capretta.
She is survived by: her children, Fred, Julie Capretta, Dina, Michael Meunier, Bruno Capretta and Patricia Maher; her grandchildren, Beth Meunier (Andy), Annie Capretta (Melvin) and Peter Capretta (Rory); her great grandchild Sophie Bayoneto; and her sister Maria. She is also survived by her nieces, nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, January 19th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Smith's Funeral Home - Stoney Creek (454 Hwy 8, Hamilton, ON L8E5Z7). A funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, January 20th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. Francis Xavier Church (304 Hwy 8, Hamilton, ON L8G1E6).
