He was predeceased by: his parents, Iris Sweetman Thomas and Alexander Gordon Thomas of Wales; his siblings-in-law, Michael, Allison and Wayne; and his nephew Wayde.

He is survived by: his wife Gillian; his children, Maria, Christopher, Anna and Samuel; his grandchild QiaòYi; his sister Ann Robins (Alan) of Wales; and his nieces and nephews, Jaemie, Vaughan, Mario Callender, Nicholas Chen, Daniel Duke, Helen, Christian, Joanne Ralowicz, Darryl, Jael Ahye, Matthew Callender, Caylon and Lan.
