He was predeceased by: his significant other Eleanor Marshall; his siblings, Donald MacMillan and Mabel Sider; and his parents, Earl Brown MacMillan and Eunice Louise Schafer.

He is survived by: his child Jackie Wheal (Eric) of Stratford; his grandchildren, Kaitlyn Wheal, Alyssa Wheal and Madison Powell; his great grandchild Zachary Powell; and his sister Barbara Baarda.
