It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Fred Klaus Birkmann (Stratford, Ontario), who passed away on July 24, 2020, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Karl Birkmann and Hildegard Katarina Henschen; his stepfather Otto Gaertner; his brother-in-law Hermann Vollmer; his brother Dick; his son Sven Krause; and his niece Susan.

He is survived by: his wife Shirley Ann Birkmann (Walker); his children, Teresa (Paul Kuntz), Karen and Derrick (Sarah Pope); his grandchildren, Kali Kreller of Scotland, Brett Lawrance and Milana Kerekes; and his siblings, Dieter (Dick), Peter and Ingrid Vollmer (Hermann).

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy can be made to St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church through the funeral home. 519.271.7411.
