He was predeceased by: his parents, Michel Louwagie and Madeline Louwagie; his siblings, Paul, Maria, Ida, Simonne, Godelieve, Germaine and Jeanne; his siblings-in-law, Alice, Willy, Eddy, Fernand, Camiel, Marcel and Paul; and his parents-in-law, Leon and Marguerite Opsomer.

He is survived by: his wife Christiane Louwagie; his children, Pat Louwagie (Kim), Rosemary Rudy (Randy) and Ann Marinelli (John); his grandchildren, Brad (Robin), Andy (Katie), Kristen, Janis, Eric, Ian, Jack, Leah, Sam, Adam, Jill and Luke; his great grandchildren, Alivia, Laura, Makayla and Eva; his siblings, Hector Louwagie (Cecile), Joe Louwagie, Leon Louwagie (Beatrice), Gabrielle Capoen and Rita Capoen; and his siblings-in-law, Leona Vandewalle (Gerry), Monique Louwagie and Andre Leblue. He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews.
