He is survived by: his children, Ken (Tanya), Michele Wettlaufer (Jeff), Rick (Elaine), Jeannette Groenestege (Corey Bender) and Pamela Boersen; his grandchildren, Jarrett, Jocelyn, Brent (Pierina), Alycia (Hani), Dylan (Sam), Hailey, Liam (Vanessa), Callum (Megan), Taylor (Derek), Logan (Ally), Dominic, Mikayla, Abbey (Spencer), Cohen, Kai, Leila, Willem and Jacob; his siblings, Ann Bokkers and Alieda Vlasman; and his siblings-in-law, Ann Boersen, Liz Boersen, Viola Boersen, Madeleine Visser, Louie Verellen (Karen), Frieda Verellen, Bonnie Rooney, Mary Guha (Kokan), Andre Verellen (Therese), John Verellen (Josee) and Bill Verellen.

Visitation was held on Thursday, January 1st 2026 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM and on Friday, January 2nd 2026 at 10:00 AM. A funeral Mass was held on Friday, January 2nd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. Joseph's Church (96 Huron St, Stratford, ON N5A5S6). A graveside service was held on Friday, January 2nd 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Avondale Cemetery (4 Avondale Ave, Stratford, ON N5A6M4).

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Gerry's memory may be made to Rotary Hospice, Stratford.
