He is survived by: his parents, Jacob Merkel and Amanda Merkel (Vossen); his sister Lyra; his grandparents, Dave, Heather Vossen, John, Alanna Poel, Jeff and Mary Merkel; his aunts and uncles, Christa Kuepfer (Keith), Whitney Steele (Kevin), Tony Vossen, Josie Poel, Caleb Poel, Owen Merkel and Bryan Merkel (Nicki); and his cousins, Bella, Max, Cameron, Tyson and Brycen. He is also survived by his great grandparents, his many great aunts uncles and cousins.
