He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Elder and Ethel Elder (Broughton); his brothers, Ted and Don Elder; his mother-in-law Joye Kane; and his siblings-in-law, Stan Henry, Tom Exley, Doug Winton, Khaled Merheb and Donna Cleaveley.
He is survived by: his spouse Lauree Anne Elder (Kane); his children, Phil Elder (Nora Artinian) and Kelly Elder (Ben Salthouse); his grandchildren, Lochlan and Declan; his father-in-law Murray Kane; his siblings, Florence Henry, Jim Elder (Juanita), Bob Elder, Georgina Winton and Liz Exley; and his in-laws, Helen Merheb and Al Kane (Cindy). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
