He was predeceased by: his parents, Milton Simons and Myrtle Simons (Newson); his wife Marjorie Mae Simons (Woodward); and his brother Charlie Simons. He is survived by: his children, Rick Simons (Tammy) and Cheryl Simons (Darren); his grandchildren, Nicole Gallagher (Pete), Christopher Simons (Skye) and Benjamin Simons; his great grandchildren, Sophia, Sydney Gallagher and Carter Simons; his brother David Simons; and his sister-in-law Margaret Simons. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
