He was predeceased by: his parents, John Blackwell and Gladys Blackwell (Harrison); his brothers, Jackie Blackwell and Bradley Blackwell; and his father-in-law Frank Ruston.

He is survived by: his spouse Carly Blackwell (Ruston); his children, Kristy Blackwell (Chris Storey) and Chad Blackwell (Brittany Wood); his siblings, Joseph Blackwell (Tammy) and Connie Wilson (Tom); his mother-in-law Marion Ruston; and his sisters-in-law, Joanne Blackwell, Debbie Barr (Carl) and Lori Stewart (Jeff). He is also survived by his many nieces, nephews.
