He was predeceased by: his wife Ruby Piers; and his siblings, Blanche, Dorothy, Janet, Beatrice, Frances, Arnold, George and Elizabeth.

He is survived by: his stepson Bill Patten (Eleanor) of Strathroy; his grandchildren, Lance (Carrie), Noah, Brett and Valerie Patten; and his children, Dustin and Ruby (Marcus). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
