He was predeceased by: his wife Janice Schalk; his daughter Kristen McNeil; his grandchild Ally Martin; his siblings, Pieter, Anthony (Tom), Nell and Anne; and his parents, Gerda Schalk and Frank Schalk.
He is survived by: his daughter Laura Martin (Mark Monteith); his grandchildren, Devin Burdett (Scott), Jesse Monteith, Spencer (Ayla Webb), Morgan and Connor Byrne; and his siblings, Corry, Peter "Pim", Nancy, Maria (Rene) and Ina.
As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Parkinson's Canada would be appreciated by the family.
