He was predeceased by: his parents, James Alderson and Annie Alderson; and his brothers, Jack Alderson, Earl Alderson and Bill Alderson.

He is survived by: his spouse Beverley Alderson (Morningstar); his children, Michael Alderson (Linda), Belinda Jakimczuk (Walter), Tracy Alderson, Liz Kendall (Jim) and Joel Alderson (Lorna); his grandchildren, April, Michelle, Sarah, Richard, Cameron and Ian; and his siblings, Anna Marie Psotka (John), Liz Stanhope and Albert Alderson.

As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Cuba Outreach Ministries.
