Iebeltje DeBoer Obituary
We are sad to announce that on May 20, 2026, at the age of 88, Iebeltje DeBoer (Strathroy, Ontario) passed away. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Iebeltje DeBoer to pay them a last tribute.
As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Iebeltje may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the echoes of her kindness, the warmth of her embrace, and the light of her enduring love.
She was predeceased by: her spouse Jitze DeBoer; and her parents, Anne Taekema and Sjoukje Taekema. She is survived by: her children, Shirley Zietsma (John), Grace Vermeer (Al), Ria Van Steeg (Bob), Lillian Zaborowski (Maciej) and Mel DeBoer (Rachelle). She is also survived by siblings and a brother-in-law in the Netherlands, and six brothers- and sisters-in-law in Canada, as well as many nieces, nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, May 24th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Denning's of Strathroy (32 Metcalfe St W, Strathroy, ON N7G1M6). A funeral service will be held on Monday, May 25th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the East Christian Reformed Church (476 Metcalfe St E, Strathroy, ON N7G1R5).
