He was loved and cherished by many people including : his spouse Trudi; his children, Matt Thompson (Kate), Emily McDonald (Paul) and Sara Bigelow (Brian); his grandchildren, Charlotte (Steve), Liam (Madina), Haley (Conor), Spencer, Andrew, Will, Ella, Levi and Luke; and his great grandchildren, Victoria, Mary, Samuel, Lily and Luna. He was also cherished by his extended family, friends.

Considering the exceptional care provided to Jim in his final days, donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital Foundation or to Bethel Baptist Church.
