He was predeceased by: his parents, Simon Thomson and Annie Thomson; his siblings, Grace McDonald (John), Dorothy Thomson, Colin Thomson, Betty Anne Thomson, Stuart Bullock, Barry Ravelle, Colin Johnson and Ken Nelson; and his parents-in-law, Abbie and Earl Shaddock.

He is survived by: his wife Wendy Thomson (Shaddock); his daughters, Ann Marie Worsley, Angela Porter (Jason) and Amy Cadman (Mark); his grandchildren, Josh, Mackenzie, Grace, Ethan, Jayla, Alexandra, Carter, Marcus and Colby; his siblings, Florence Johnson, Duncan Thomson, Ruth Bullock, Carol Ravelle and Judy Daniel (Howard); and his siblings-in-law, Lorelei Battram (Dale), Karen Gorman (Rick), Debbie Wiseman (Jim), Julie Nelson, Rosemary Shaddock (Ed), Vicki Huber (Del) and Doug Shaddock (Shawna).
