He was predeceased by : his spouse Waltraut; his parents, Josef Frisa and Elenora Frisa; his sister Isolde; and his brothers-in-law, William Stronski and Karl Baumgarten Sr..

He is survived by : his children, Norman Frisa (Gayle), Susan Eedy (Brian) and Tammy Vanneste (Mark Ansems).

As Josef's wishes, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Diabetes of Canada.
