He was predeceased by: his spouses, Alexandrina and Silva Melo; his parents, Manuel Correia and Silvina Augusta Melo; and his brother Jose Melo (Maria).

He is survived by: his sons, Aldevino (Marlene) and Humberto (Janice); and his siblings, Maria Valentina Mendonca (Orlando), Juvenal Melo (Durvalina) and Joao Melo (Fatima). He is also survived by many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and godchildren.
