He was predeceased by: his brother John; his sister-in-law Froukje; his brother Albert; and his great grandchild Braden. He is survived by: his spouse Tina (Trijn Tamming Snoeyer); his children, Gaye Nauta, Case Nauta, Alice Dupuis, Tony Dupuis, John Tamming, Manon Tamming, Joanne Jenkins, Tony Jenkins, Linda Rice and Stephen Lehman; his grandchildren, Michael (Jennifer), Nathan (Elizabeth), Jonathan Casey (Brandon), Kevin (Heather), Richard (Margaret), Jessica, Melissa (Theo), Anthony, Joel (Tara), Laura (Christopher), Adam (Jessica), Nicole and Taylor (Catriona); his siblings, Martin (Nellie), Johan (Hilda), Jim (Barb) and George; and his sister-in-law Martha.
In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated by the family to Lisaard & Innisfree Hospice or to the ENT Cancer Unit, LHSC, London.
