She was predeceased by: her grandparent Beulah Whissell. She is survived by: her parents, Mark Whissell and Nancy Whissell (Brown); her brother Ryan Whissell; her significant other Doug Welch (Bear); her grandparents, Bill Brown, Maureen Brown (Lowney) and Albert Whissell; her uncle Patrick Lowney; Mike Brown (Robin Goard), Cathy Bellingham (David), Jim Brown (Paula), Patrick Brown (Annette), Lesley Rousseau (Yvon), Jennifer Kusnierczyk (Tony), Ashley Bellingham, Breanne Bellingham, Joshua Zanella Bown, Meridith Kusnierczyk, Jill Kusnierczyk, Kayleigh Brown and Teagan Brown.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial bursary fund has been set up at Cambrian College in Alex's name in order to financially assist deserving nursing students.
