He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Viau and Léa Viau; his wife Elizabeth "Betty" Ann Clark; his siblings, Réjeanne, Léo, Oza and Rita; and his grandson Mark.

He is survived by: his siblings, Marcelle Burns, Jeannine Harvey and Roger; his children, Dan, Patrick (Sheila) and Angela Rideout (late Jim); his grandchildren, Andrew, Jordan, Allysia, Liila (Angelia), Ashlee, Aaron, Jesse, Jazmynne, Anastasia, Jubilee, Jared, Sharyl, Amanda and Jamie; and his great grandchildren, Devan, Adaline, Senan, Maisie and Lucy.
