David James Eheler Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce Dave Eheler, at the age of 53, passed peacefully into God's arms on Saturday, March 21st 2020 with his most loved spouse, Trish at his side. He will be greatly missed by his loving daughter Ashley (Dave Ward), his grandsons, Finn & Aiden and his loving son, Devon (Melissa). Forever loved and missed by his Mom Carol Verge and stepdad Jim Verge, his sisters Robin, and Marnie (Tony) and his nieces Kate (Josh) Laura and Rachel. He will be always missed by many close family and friends. He was loved and will be greatly missed by Trish's family and they will be forever grateful how he treasured and loved her these many years. Dave had a huge love and empathy for people and animals and will always be remembered for his interesting conversations, his compassion, his friendliness and his love of life. He stayed always true to his heart.
Dave was grew up in Brantford Ontario and entered the military at age 18 where he spent 3 years stationed in Petawawa Ontario. He learned valuable life long lessons while in the military which lead him to take a paramedic course and have a variety of interesting jobs. He wanted to own his own business and started New Music Management, managing start up bands. He loved working with the bands along with his partner Trish - partner in life and business, they together figured ways to make money while taking care of his family. New Music Management lead to another business idea in marketing from home and Client Acquisition Partners was formed and is still going to this day, 20 years later. Dave brilliantly set the whole business up and gave many young mothers and others who wanted to work from home a chance to earn a good living.
Dave loved life and he loved a good conversation even more. He was so happy to have the love of his life and cherished everyone around him. He wanted to help others. During the New Music Management days, he would give out blankets to homeless people in downtown Toronto after a band show. He gave money to so many who came to him with sad stories. He was full of empathy for everyone's struggles. He handled his own struggles with such courage by constantly giving to others - he gave his time, he gave money, he gave care and compassion.
Dave loved his children. He was proud of them as they made their way through life. He tried his hardest to be the best dad although he didn't live with them. He constantly thought of them with every move he made in life and included them in every thought he had. He wanted to be someone they looked up to for advice and for conversations. He wanted only happiness for them.
One of Dave's greatest joys was his dogs. Pugsley, the cutest pug ever, for 16 years, Drift, the most interesting rescue ever, for 7 years. Both dogs ruled him and he did whatever was necessary to ensure the dogs had a good life. And, in turn, he appreciated and loved them so much.
Cancer snuck up on him much too soon and took him from us. He faced it without fear and left calmly knowing he was on his way to heaven to keep watch over us. He will be forever greatly loved and missed by all who knew him. Cremation has taken place. A foundation is being created in his name to honour his legacy. Thank you to all the nurses and Doctors, in Kirkland Lake and in Sudbury who took such great care of him while he was sick. They did an amazing job of caring for him and making him as comfortable as possible during his courageous battle. He was a true gentleman to the end.
Coming up to Dave's 57th birthday, February 4th, 2024. I can only imagine the interesting conversation we woulda had for the past 4 years. I think of you every day and miss you so much. I feel you are still here and that's the best place for me to be right now. I love you and miss you. T
