Elsie Harasymko Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Elsie Harasymko (Sudbury, Ontario), who passed away on September 22, 2025 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Nick Harasymko; her granddaughter Jennifer Laurich; her parents, Dmytro Chmara and Sophie (Catcher); and her siblings, Ted Chmara (Olive), Walter Chmara (Carol), Dan Chmara (Joan), Olga, Mary and Anne.
She is survived by: her daughters, Stephanie Di Bernardo (Ramy) of Wisconsin, Christine Laurich (Allan) of Goderich and Katherine Kolppanen (Kelly) of Guelph; her grandchildren, Samantha Di Bernardo (Brennan Mitchell), Christopher Di Bernardo (Andrea), David Laurich (Sarah), Stephen Laurich (Hayley), Kurtis Jahn (Sahmina) and Vanessa Cadorette (Justin Nodwell); and her great grandchildren, Connor, Aiden, Briar, Bowen, Lyla and Charlotte. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 29th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home (233 Larch St, Greater Sudbury, ON P3E3E1). A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 29th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the R. J. Barnard Chapel (233 Larch St, Greater Sudbury, ON P3E3E1). A burial will be held on Monday, September 29th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Civic Cemetery (365 2nd Ave N, Sudbury, ON P3B3M4).
In lieu of flowers or plants, donations to Hospice Wellington in Guelph or St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church in Sudbury would be appreciated.
