He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Punkari and Vieno Punkari; his sister Vilma (Bob Watt); his in-laws, Archie and Janet McLeod; and his siblings-in-law, Frank, Neil McLeod and Mary Visser (McLeod).
He is survived by: his wife Greta; his children, Marty (Denise), David (Colleen), Keith (Christina) and Krista Kowaluk (Kyle); his grandchildren, Jacob, Ryan, Liam, Emily, Kaitlyn, Brooklyn, Paige, Cory and Scott; his great grandchildren, Jack and Mia; his sisters, Marlene (Murray Maddock) and Judy (late Frank Bussey); and his close friend Ron Santala. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins.
