He was predeceased by: his parents, Rudolf Schmidt (Rudy) and Grace Schmidt; his sister Lois Burns; and his nephew Brian. He is survived by: his nibling Laurie Boyer (Rick); his grandchildren, Brett Harper (Jasmine), Sarah, Gavin, Joel and Carter Schmidt; Claire, Stacey Juusela (Mark) and Derek Schmidt (Melissa).
