He was predeceased by: his wife Murielle Laferrière; his parents, Siméon Laferrière and Elizabeth Laferrière; and his siblings, Yvette Brunet (Alcide), Léo-Paul Laferrière (Jeannine Tessier) and André Laferrière (Denise).

He is survived by: his children, Patrick Laferrière (Leslie McLeod) of Sudbury and Joëlle Laferrière-Watson (Ian Watson) of Ottawa; his siblings, Edouard Laferrière (late Yollande), Roland Laferrière, Conrad Laferrière (late Nicole) and Lucille Louttit (Alfred); and his grandchildren, Trent, Cameron and Deklan. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
