She was predeceased by: her husband Ted Thurston (Edward); her parents, Oscar Johnson and Mary Johnson; and her siblings, Elna Kent, Bertha Keskinen, Arne Johnson, Aini Welsh, Aune Keller, Paul Johnson and Senja Eerola.
She is survived by: her sons, Mark (Cheryl) and Ed (Mary Louise).
Visitation was held on Friday, May 8th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home (233 Larch St, Greater Sudbury, ON P3E3E1). A funeral service was held on Friday, May 8th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the R. J. Barnard Chapel (233 Larch St, Greater Sudbury, ON P3E3E1).
In lieu of flowers donations to Bethel Baptist Church would be appreciated.
