She was predeceased by: her father William Watt (Bill). She is survived by: her mother Jean Watt; her husband Ray Kirkness; her children, Scott (Sarah), Andy (Ethel) and Colleen (Wayne); her grandchildren, Aurora, Bennett and Eleanor Kirkness; and her sisters, Mary (Joe) and Fiona (Kevin).

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Heather's name to the Shirley & Jim Fielding Northeast Cancer Centre.
