He was predeceased by: his daughter Alexandra; his parents, Albert Whissell and Beulah Whissell; and his parents-in-law, Bill and Maureen Brown.

He is survived by: his wife Nancy (Brown); his sisters, Lesley Rousseau (Yvon) and Jennifer (Tony Kusnierczyk); his siblings-in-law, Mike Brown (Robin Goard), Jim Brown (Paula Zanella), Patrick Brown (Annette Miller) and Cathy Bellingham (David); and his close friends, Dave Freeman, Doug Wilkin and Mark Zinn. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews.
