He was predeceased by: his parents, Einar Pasivirta and Ellen Pasivirta; and his brother Joukko. He is survived by: his wife Marlene; his children, Beverly (Mark) and Robert (Nadia); his grandchildren, Stefan, Nathan (Chantal), Emily (Matt) and Noah (Emma-Liisa); his great grandchildren, Isaac, Aaron, Julie, Silas and Robbie; his brother Peter (Sharon); and his cousin Lea.

Visitation was held on Friday, October 16th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Finnish Pentecostal Church (1843 Paris St, Sudbury, ON P3E3C5). A funeral service was held on Friday, October 16th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location.
