He was predeceased by: his parents, Rhea Dinan and George Dinan; his former wife Murielle Purcell; his family, Florange (Buddy), Flanagan (Jack), Marie Young (Mel), Joyce (Jo), Mcdowell (John), Sue Ward (Ray), George, Patrick (Helen), Rhea Halpenny (Ray) and Robert (Maryon); and his siblings-in-law, Frances Austdal, Jeannette Courchesne (Louis), Bill Purcell (Diane) and Greg Purcell (Sandy).

He is survived by: his wife June Stelmack; his stepchildren, Jennifer Thompson (Derek) and Craig Stelmack (Anna); his grandchildren, Samuel, Oliver, William, Olivia, Ryan, Owen, George and Mary; Percy.
