With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Rita Salminen (Sudbury, Ontario), who passed away on April 24, 2026 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Rita may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the echoes of her kindness, the warmth of her embrace, and the light of her enduring love.
She was predeceased by: her husband Elmer P. Salminen; her parents, John J. F. Parks and A. Eunice Parks; and her siblings, Jerry Parks (Muench), Myrna Parks (Young), Fred Parks, Herman Parks and Diane Parks (McDonald).
She is survived by: her sons, Leslie Salminen (Yvanca) and Neil Salminen; her grandchildren, Marja Salminen MacEacheron (Ryan) and Aili Salminen Banete (Adrian); her great grandchild Arlo MacEacheron; and her brother Robin Parks. She is also survived by met lifelong friends.
