He was predeceased by : his wife Harriet Goulais Erb; his parents, Wilhelm and Anna; and his siblings, Aloys, Berthold and Clara.

He is survived by : his children, Robert Jr. (Patty), Rosemarie (Eric), Barbara (Gordon) and Kristofer (Christine); his grandchildren, Melanie, Kayden, Gabrielle, Ian, Zachary, Brooke, Tyler and Brayden; and his brother Winfred. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 24th 2021 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday, November 25th 2021 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home (233 Larch St, Sudbury, ON P3E3E1). A funeral service was held on Thursday, November 25th 2021 at 11:00 AM at the R. J. Barnard Chapel (233 Larch St, Sudbury, ON P3E3E1). Resting at the Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home, 233 Larch St., Sudbury. (Friends may call 4-8pm Wednesday and after 10am Thursday; face masks are mandatory).
