Sidney Downing Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Sidney Downing of Sudbury, Ontario, born in Apsley, Ontario, who passed away on November 16, 2021. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Esther Downing and Anthony Downing; his siblings, Blanch Michaelis (Gordon) and Doris Wheeler (John); his stepfathers, Ernie Watkinson and Owen James; and his children, Kathy Barry and David Downing.

He is survived by: his wife Mildred (Mila); his children, Valerie Downing, Sherri Peachey, Cyril Downing (Dianne) and Monica Dailey (Donald); his grandchildren, Aaron, Bob, Kaitlyn, Carley (Tanner), Spencer (Kristen), Jacob and Casey; his great grandchildren, Lucas, Raider, Simon and Emry; and his parents-in-law, Mary (late Ernie), Rudy (Linda), Alice (John), Marie, Johnny (Laura), Annie, Cathy, Mike (Barb) and Patrick. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Due to the current public health recommendations, it is requested that all that are attending have complete Covid vaccinations.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to the West Parry Sound Health Centre Foundation, Alzheimer's Society or charity of your choice.
