He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Heinrich Schaefer and Katharina Haag; his sister Ilse Schaefer; his parent-in-law Loni Hellmer; his children, Dagmar Schaefer (Richard McMillan) and Heinrich Schaefer (Jayne Barnett); his grandchildren, Tanja Schaefer (Darryl Chad Laframboise), Emily Schaefer (Adam Marbrow) and Lewis Schaefer (Daisy Weir); and his great grandchildren, Ella Laframboise and Damion McMillan.
